Social justice is an important and often overlooked aspect of sustainable planning. It is about achieving and maintaining equal opportunity for all citizens regardless of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, etc. Urban planning with regards to social justice involves integrating a wide range of incomes into the community to try to reduce inequality. While walking through the city this evening we noticed that San Francisco, like many other metropolitan areas, has a large homeless population. During the duration of our time here we would like to investigate how the City of San Francisco is addressing this problem and making their city more livable for all its citizens.
