Applying and Comparing Jeff Speck's 10 Steps for a Walkable City
INSTRUCTIONS: Complete an analysis of two streets/areas in Raleigh, North Carolina. The analysis should include a comparison of Fayetteville Street (Raleigh's most walkable street) and another assigned street near campus using Jeff Speck's 10 steps for a Walkable City. After an analysis of the streets is conducted, provide recommendations to develop the streets based upon Jeff Speck's 10 Steps for a Walkable City and using examples from San Francisco. In addition to making these recommendations within this blog, provide visual examples of the recommendations to assist others in understanding the recommendations to their fullest extent. This class will complete an analysis of the following streets/areas: Team 1 - Avent Ferry from Western to Gorman; Team 2 - Oberlin; Smallwood, Woodburn to Clark; Team 3 - HIllsborough from Gorman to Pullen.
